![]() - www.doglistenersdownunder.com.au - www.doglistenersdownunder.co.nz - ~ Mission Statement ~ As Dog Listeners we are passionate advocates for the welfare of dogs, by promoting and improving the general public's awareness, understanding and access to Dog Listening and Dog Listeners in the southern hemisphere. We aim to educate and improve the relationships between humans and their dogs. Kindly with no gadgets or force and using the dog's natural instincts and language, we can equip you with all the knowledge you require to live a happy, stress free life with man's best friend. ~ About Dog Listening ~ What is Dog Listening but our human take on how canines live their lives? The dog has evolved this way of group living because it ensures that animals can interact with one another with the minimum chance of conflict and thus maximise the survival odds. They use it because it works. Regardless of the breed, age, size or personality of your dog, Dog Listening is the language of that dog. Like their ancestors the wolves, domestic dogs are pack animals driven by the instinct to survive. They follow a strict code of hierarchy and ritualized behaviours. They know from the time they are born that their very survival depends on having strong, wise leaders. Many people unintentionally give their dogs mixed signals as to who is the decision maker, leaving the dog no choice but to assume the role of leader. It is the stress of this assumed role of leadership that can manifest as behavioural problems in your dog. Dog Listening is not a training method, rather a unique way of communicating with your dog. Once your dog knows what it is you are asking, it will willingly comply. Dog Listening is a holistic approach to working and living with your dog. Dog Listening uses no force, fear, pain, devices or drugs and no pressure is placed on the dog. On the contrary, Dog Listening encourages the dog to make choices of its own free will. Valuable to any dog owner, Dog Listening provides an opportunity to gain a complete understanding of the dog and its actions, to be equipped in any situation, to respond in a way that the dog understands. Allowing the dog to become the calm, content and happy family member it has always wanted to be. ~ ~ ~ > contact@doglistenersdownunder.com.au < |
